Description

Refresh the final drive of your Zontes 125 with this chain and sprocket set. Replacing chain and sprockets together restores smooth power delivery and avoids premature wear of new parts on old ones.

The set uses an O-ring (oil seal) chain and is available with a 42 or 43 tooth rear sprocket, according to the selected option.

Final Drive Maintenance

A worn chain or hooked sprocket teeth cause jerky acceleration, noise and can lead to chain failure. Replacing the complete set at once gives the best service life. The 43 tooth sprocket gives slightly quicker acceleration, while the 42 tooth sprocket favors a slightly higher top-end gearing.

Installation

Installation

  1. Place the motorcycle on a stand with the rear wheel off the ground.
  2. Loosen the rear axle and chain adjusters, then remove the old chain.
  3. Remove the front sprocket cover and replace the front sprocket.
  4. Remove the rear wheel if required and replace the rear sprocket.
  5. Fit the new chain and secure the master link correctly.
  6. Adjust chain slack to the specification in the owner's manual and align the wheel.
  7. Tighten the axle and sprocket bolts to the specified torque and lubricate the chain.

Important: The final drive is safety-critical. Incorrectly installed chains or master links can fail. If unsure, have the set installed by a qualified mechanic.
