These two share a platform but not a purpose. The 125U is the sporty naked of Zontes' 125 range; the 125U1 is the small trail built on the same base, aimed at A1 riders and, in Spain and Italy, at car-licence holders. Both run a liquid-cooled four-valve DOHC single with Bosch MSE 8.0 injection - the U1 is quoted at 14.7 hp and 13 Nm, which Zontes claims as a class record for flexibility - plus a slipper clutch, two engine maps and an LCD dash that includes tyre pressure monitoring, a genuinely unusual feature at this price.
Two bikes, two shopping lists
The 125U1's trail stance and taller suspension push its owners towards adventure-style parts: hand guards, engine and radiator protection, tail racks and soft luggage for weekend use, wide footpegs and bar risers. The 125U, being a naked, follows the streetfighter pattern instead - frame sliders and bar-end sliders first, then a small flyscreen for motorway stints, tail tidy, LED indicators, bar-end mirrors and tank pads. What they share is the consumables list, and that is where most of the volume sits: levers, mirrors, filters, spark plugs, chain and sprocket kits, and grips all cross between the two.
Fitment across the 125 family
This collection covers the ZT125-U and ZT125-U1, plus the "U125" and "U1-125" spellings used by Spanish and UK dealers. Because Zontes built its whole 125 range on closely related architecture, a significant number of control and engine-side parts also fit the 125G1 scrambler - Spanish press described the G1 and U1 as near-twins. Anything mounted to the tank, seat, subframe or bodywork is model-specific and does not carry across. Always confirm the exact variant on the product page.
